In 2005, the leaders of the CPC and the state
frequently
visited disaster stricken areas to meet the public, and grassroots units to conduct investigation and research. The security protection forces adopted effective measures and implemented them carefully to ensure the security of the leaders as well as to facilitate the communications between the public and the leaders.
The forces developed more scientific plans for organization and personnel deployment to ensure the security of the Third Session of the 10th National People's Congress, the Third Session of the 10th People's Political Consultative Conference, the 5th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the
CPC, a series commemoration activities for the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the
World Anti-fascist War, the 10th Chinese National Game, the grand celebration marking the 40th founding anniversary of Tibet Autonomous Region, the grand celebration marking the 50th founding anniversary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, etc...Additionally, the forces implemented security protection for other important meetings and activities such as the visit of chairman of the People First Party and the chairman of New Party from Taiwan, the Sixth Asia-Europe Finance Ministers' Meeting, the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting and the 2nd China-ASEAN Expo.
The forces accomplished 313 tasks of security protection for visiting foreign VIPs including U.S. President George W. Bush, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Japanese Foreign Minister Machimura Nobutaka.
