The Strategy of Community and Rural Policing

In 2006, Chinese public security agencies implemented The Decision on Implementing the Strategy of Community and Rural Policing by the Ministry of Public Security, and worked with full strength to put the strategy into practice.

The community and village-stationed police officers devoted themselves to building police-public relationship, listening to and collecting public opinions, strengthening population administration, and organizing preventive initiatives for security. Their efforts led to qualified service to the residents and social stability. By the end of December 2006, 62,000 community police stations with 130,000 community police officers and 71,000 village police stations with 90,000 village-stationed police officers had been set up respectively in cities and rural areas.
