In the year of 2006, public Security organs seriously organized and implemented the Working Plan of Science & Technology for Public Security Organs Nationwide 2003-2008, and expanded the Construction of demonstration cities that strengthen the police through science and technology to the construction of demonstration cities, demonstration counties/towns, and demonstration police stations/police squads, so as to fully push forward the construction of demonstration work that intends to enhance the police by means of science and technology. Additionally, the built-up of the bases for promotion of police science and technology achievements is under way, the built-up of platforms for promotion and application of police science and technology achievements has been completed, and the activities that attempt a hundred of police science and technology achievements to serve grassroots police units have been initiated. Among these police science and technology achievements, one has won the National Invention Prize, 5 have won the National Science & Technology Progress Prize, 45 the Public Security Ministry’s Science & Technology Prize, 9 have entered the National Plan of Supporting Science & Technology under the 11^th National Five-Year Plan, 254 have entered the list of science and technology projects at the Ministry’s level, and 31 have been spread as key achievements.
